Queen E. Curry

Queen E. Curry, 83, passed away on June 24, at her home.

Queen was born on Jan. 12, 1934, in West Point, Mississippi. She was one of two children born to Mack and Estelle (Webber) McCottrey. After graduating high school, she married James C. Curry on Nov. 22, 1974, in Chicago. He preceded her in death in February 1990.

Queen enjoyed music, gardening and fishing.

Queen is survived by her son Donald McCottrey of Monterey; grandchildren: Asia and Toya; uncle John [Jeanette] Webber of Chicago; aunt Rosanell Cunningham of California; and cousins: Maynell Adams, Kimberly Adams, Tamara Videitt, Veronica Adams, Willie Mack [Lynette] McCottrey, and Marcelle, all of Chicago.

A time of visitation will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, on Thursday, July 6, from 1–3 p.m. Burial will follow at Alexander Heinemann Memorial Cemetery in Ora.

Memorials may be given in Queen’s memory to any charity the donor chooses.
