Phyllis Pownall, 91, of Greencastle, formerly of Rochester, passed away on Monday, May 21, at Mill Pond Health Care Center in Greencastle.
Born on July 9, 1926, in Ripley, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ferrell (Freeman) Brown.
Phyllis attended Kewanna United Methodist Church. She enjoyed boating on Lake Manitou during the years and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son Verl [Beverly] Kreamer of Kewanna; brothers: Richard Brown of Winamac, and Leonard Brown of Rochester; sister Lola Lauder of Michigan; grandchildren: Matt, Michelle, Lindsey, Daniel, Dana and Nathan; daughter-in-law Rufina Kreamer of Indianapolis; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands: Ray Pownall and Robert Whitmire; infant son Darl Ralph Kreamer; son Jerry Kreamer; and brothers: Donald and Harold Brown.
Services were at 3:30 p.m., Friday, May 25, at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel with visitation at 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial took place at McKinley Memorial Gardens in Winamac.
