Phyllis Joy Jungels

May 2, 1933 — Nov. 29, 2016

Phyllis Joy Jungels, 83, of Medaryville, died at 2:54 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. 

She was born May 2, 1933, in Sublett, Kentucky, to Leonard and Dollie (Carty) Stepp. Phyllis married Fred D. Jungels on Oct. 1, 1949, in Rensselaer. Fred died Jan. 3, 2007.

She was a member of the Teaberry Hill Estates Church in Medaryville. Phyllis was a homemaker and farm wife. Phyllis was a great cook, funny and loved to dance. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her life.

Survivors include her daughters: Dolly [Jerry] Schultz of Fort Wayne, Carol [Johnny C.] Conley of Medaryville, Brenda [Bob] Burge of Medaryville, and Kerri [Greg] Hamilton of Fort Wayne; son Fred M. [Susan] Jungels of Medaryville; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and brother Leonard Stepp Jr. of Albion. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred D. Jungels; parents Leonard and Dollie (Carty) Stepp; son Daniel Michael Jungels; three grandchildren; sisters: Beulah Risner, Francis Wayne and Helen Banks; and brothers: Lindbergh Stepp and Richard “R.B.” Stepp.

Visitation was 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht in Francesville. Rev. Tod Masters officiated. Burial took place at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
