Paul Richard Schultz

Paul Richard Schultz, 88, of Medaryville, passed away at 10:08 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac. 

Paul was born on May 14, 1929, in North Judson, to the late Alfred Paul and Meta A. (Turner) Schultz. On Oct. 20, 1948, he married Kathryn Joan Wagner in Winamac. She survives.

Paul was a longtime resident of Medaryville where he was the owner of Schultz Garage. He had been active with the Lions Club and Medaryville Volunteer Fire Department. He served as Pulaski County Sheriff from 1978-81 and was a lifetime member of the Indiana Sheriff’s Association.

Paul was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the family farm. He also enjoyed gardening. Paul loved his family very much, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife Kathryn Joan (Wagner) Schultz of Medaryville; daughters: Diana [Bernard] Whitaker of Winamac, Denise Conley of Winamac, and Darlene Schultz of Winamac; son Steve [Donna Jackson] Schultz of Winamac; grandchildren: Brad, Nichole, Dina, Halie and Lindsey; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Paul and Meta A. (Turner) Schultz; son-in-law Lewis Conley; and siblings: Elsie, William, Edward, Dorothy, Dolores, Hurbert and Bob. 

No services were held. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Medaryville Volunteer Fire Department.
