Paul F. Werner

Feb. 10, 1927 — April 21, 2016

Paul F. Werner, 89, of Medaryville, passed away at 11:33 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville. 

Paul was born on Feb. 10, 1927, in Reynolds, to the late William and Elizabeth (Heimlich) Werner. 

On June 4, 1950, he married JoAnn May Ricks at the Francesville Methodist Church. She survives. 

Paul was a member of the Medaryville Methodist Church.

Paul raised livestock, farmed and was a seed salesman. He loved to garden and do woodwork. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in years past. He had formerly worked at Mayhew Coal & Grain in Medaryville for 28 years. 

Paul was a lifetime member of the Medaryville Lions Club. He was a former member of the White Post Township Advisory Board.

Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. 

Survivors include his wife JoAnn May Ricks Werner of Medaryville; sons: Rodrick [Cheryl] Werner of San Pierre, Gregory [Pamela] Werner of Medaryville, and James [Shirley] Werner of West Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; half sister Evelyn Fox of Rockford, Illinois; and half brother Tom Werner of Lafayette. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth (Heimlich) Werner; father William Werner; sister Elizabeth Jarret; and brothers: Edgar Werner and Arthur Werner. 

Visitation was 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel Medaryville. A Lions Memorial Service took place at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel. Pastor Hal Cohn officiated. Burial took place in White Post Cemetery, Medaryville.

Memorial contributions may be given to Medaryville Lions Club or Medaryville Methodist Church.
