Olive May Master

Sept. 22, 1928 — Feb. 14, 2015

Olive May Master, 86, of Winamac, passed away at 5:47 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville.

She was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Winamac, to Walter and Cora (Warmbrod) Peters.

Olive married Earl Robert Master on Feb. 20, 1949, at Lake Bruce. Earl died on March 4, 1974.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist and the Circle of Love. Olive was a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star 96 in Winamac.

Olive was a bookkeeper for Buckeye Elevator in Monterey for many years. She was also a former teller at the First National Bank in Monterey.

Olive enjoyed playing bunco, cooking and farming. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters: Nancy [Larry] Peters of Stilesville, and Bonnie [Robert] Elliott of Gonbach, Germany; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Ellen [Gene] Horn of Kewanna, Norma [Ralph] Master of Washington, Illinois, and Lulu Belle Walker of Kokomo; and brother Willard [Helen] Peters of Winamac.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Lloyd and Cora E. (Warmbrod) Peters; husband Earl Robert Master; daughter Beverly Kay Peterson; son Lemuel Lloyd Master; and sister Lucille Overmyer.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, and one prior to services at the church on Thursday. Order of Eastern Star services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Lake Bruce. Burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lake Bruce.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Fund or the Heart Foundation or Pleasant Hill Church.
