Mollie Marcella Hoffman
Mollie Marcella Hoffman, 90, of San Pierre, passed away June 26, 2017.
On Jan. 6, 1927, in Denham, Marcella was born to Otto and Mollie (Henning) Dommer. Marcella graduated from Winamac High School and went on to graduate from Electronic Radio-Television Institute in Omaha, Nebraska, with a degree in airline communication. Marcella married the love of her life, Bob Hoffman, May 23, 1948. Marcella owned and operated Marcella’s Quilt Shop for 45 years. She was a 4-H Leader, Cub Scout Leader, a member of the Quilt Club, and was involved with the Home Extension Club. In addition to her quilting, she loved writing, gardening, crafting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Marcella is survived by her loving family including her husband Bob; children: Ruth [Larry] Timm, Nancy [Roger] McCarty and Linda Williams; son-in-law Eugene Timm; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and special friend and caretaker Desiree Risner.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Martha Timm; brothers: August, Walter, Harold, Henry and Richard; and sisters: Helen, Velma and Thelma.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, June 28, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. CDT at White Post Cemetery, Medaryville, on Thursday, June 29. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. CDT on Thursday, June 29, at St. Luke Community Church, San Pierre.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke Community Church of San Pierre.
