Michael Charles McCartney

Michael Charles McCartney, 20, of Logansport, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, in Howard Community Hospital, Kokomo.

Born Feb. 9, 1998, in Kokomo, he was the son of James Michael McCartney and Susan (Winters) McCartney, who survive. 

Michael was a 2016 graduate of Logansport High School. He attended Valley Fellowship Church. 

Michael loved SpongeBob, Elmo and music, especially classical music. He enjoyed all of the cheering and yelling when his family gathered to watch the Indianapolis Colts play football. 

Surviving with his parents are his brother Joseph Patrick McCartney of Russiaville; sisters: Ashley Sue [Zachary] Armstrong of Winamac, and Christie Lee [Brock] Williams of Logansport; maternal grandmother Jerry Jayne Winters of Winamac; nephew Nathaniel Kyle Armstrong; uncles: Robert D. McCartney and Thomas Lee Winters; and aunt Juanita Lee McCartney.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother Jason Robert McCartney; his maternal grandfather Jack Winters; his paternal grandparents Juanita C. and Charles E. McCartney; aunt Mary Gill Hoover; and uncle Charles “Chuck” McCartney. 

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Fisher Funeral Chapel. A celebration of Michael's life will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Stow officiating. Interment will follow in the Star City West Cemetery.
