Mary Jane Koons

Mary Jane Koons, 72, of Royal Center, passed away at 10 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, at her residence.

Born Feb. 23, 1943, in Star City, she was the daughter of the late Emron Jr. and Annabelle (Doen) Bonnell.

On Aug. 30, 1961, she married Robert L. Koons, who survives.

She was a 1961 Star City High School graduate.

Mrs. Koons formerly worked in the office at Dye Lumber in Royal Center for 10 years and she also formerly worked at Community State Bank.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pulaski where she was active in the Christian Mother’s.

Survivors include her husband Robert Koons of Royal Center; sons: Randolph L. [Angela] Koons of North Carolina, and Aaron R. [Lisa] Koons of Royal Center; daughter Sandra L. [Raymond] Little of Lebanon; brother Clifford [Wanda] Bonnell of Winamac; sisters: Faith [Richard] Poindexter of Wolcott, Peggy [Richard] Shidler of Logansport, and Cathy [Kevin] Farmer of Iowa; sister-in-law Mary Lou Bonnell of Winamac; four grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was also preceded in death by her brother Paul A. Bonnell.

Per Mary Jane’s wishes, her services were private and burial was at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
