Marilyn K. Shidler

April 26, 1953 — Dec. 7, 2016

Marilyn K. Shidler, 63, of Royal Center, passed away unexpectedly at 4:04 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born April 26, 1953, in Winamac, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (Fry) Hoffman.

She was a 1971 Winamac High School graduate. 

Marilyn was currently working as a correctional officer at the Cass-Pulaski Community Corrections Department and she also formerly operated a cleaning business where she cleaned the Royal Center Post Office and various other residences and businesses.

Marilyn was a member of Baptist Christian Church in Royal Center and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son Lance Fisher of Logansport; grandchildren: Ashley [Jacob] Elliott and Dennis Fisher, all of Logansport; great-grandchildren: Xavier Gordon, Christian and Ethan Elliott; and siblings: Frank Hoffman of Sarasota, Florida, Donald Beaver of Apache Junction, Arizona, Jeanette [Fred] Kasten of Winamac, Eldonna [Lawrence] Merritt of Speedway, Robert [Becky] Hoffman of Culver, Mike [Carol] Hoffman of Winamac, and James [Fran] Hoffman of North Webster.

She was preceded in death by sisters Laverne and Sharon.

Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel. A celebration of Marilyn’s life was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Baptist Christian Church in Royal Center. Pastor Rich Utterback officiated.
