Mariea A. Reichard

July 13, 1944 — Dec. 26, 2018

Mariea Ann Reichard, 74, of Culver, passed away Dec. 26, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver; where she had been a resident since Dec. 3, 2004.

Mariea was born to William Andrew and Fayette Fanchion (Busch) Link on July 13, 1944, in Winamac. She married Russell Edwin Reichard on Sept. 3, 1960, in Pulaski County. Together they raised four children and resided on the Reichard family farms, lastly on the one that was divided off when new SR 17 was constructed.

Mariea was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Chapter 741 of Plymouth, Eagles 323 of Logansport, Winamac 2580, and Culver 3321; while there she served in various offices of the clubs. Until she became ill, she enjoyed going to hear the local bands at the clubs and she belonged to the “Country Gentlemen” band. She also enjoyed reading, watching old western movies on TV, and working in her yard and garden.

Mariea is survived by her children: Paul C. Reichard II of Kewanna, Eddie L. Reichard of Logansport, Dawn M. Wolfe of Kewanna, and Lori L. [Kenneth] Swafford of Rochester; stepdaughter Denise J. [Braden] Chandler of Rochester; grandchildren: Kevin A., Ian M., Fayette F., and Shelby L. Swafford, and Raymond J. and Jessie A. Wolfe; and step-grandchildren Jason L. and Jeremy R. Grube; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; brother William “Willie” [Mary Ann] Link of Bruce Lake and their family; and cousin Caroline [Renee] Boos of Kentucky and her family; as well as special friend and caregiver to the family Judith E. Burns.

There will be a private family viewing with graveside services at a later date.
