Margaret A. Freeman

Jan. 27, 1939 — Aug. 9, 2015

Margaret A. "Marge" Freeman, 76, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ at 1:16 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9. She passed away peacefully at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, following a brief illness.

Marge was born on Jan. 27, 1939, at Lake Bruce, to the late Raymond and Opal C. (Hurlburt) Button.

She attended school in Winamac.

On Jan. 27, 1961, she married the love of her life, Jerry Freeman in Knox. He survives.

Marge was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winamac. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was faithful to read her Bible and “Our Daily Bread” devotionals. Marge enjoyed participating in the Christian Women's Fellowship.

Marge enjoyed camping and watching Jerry race at Shady Hill.

Marge was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband Jerry R. Freeman of Winamac; sons: Larry J. "LJ" Freeman of Royal Center, and Scott R. Freeman of Winamac; daughter Marla M. Freeman of Winamac; granddaughters: Michelle [Vincent] Pratt and Justine Hewitt; grandson Kalin Freeman; great-granddaughter Linae Pratt; great-grandson Jerry L. Pratt; sisters: Thelma [Harold] Hopkins of Winamac, and Lena [Clyde] Gourley of Buffalo; brother Jerry [Janet] Button of Winamac; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Opal C. (Hurlburt) Button; granddaughter Renee N. Freeman; brother Gerald Button; and sister-in-law Shirley Button.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Frain Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Pastor Mark Pilger officiating. Burial will take place in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church.
