Lowell L. Reinhold

Jan. 16, 1921 — Jan. 18, 2019

Lowell L. Reinhold, 98, of Winamac, formerly of Monterey, passed away at 6:28 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac. 

Lowell was born on Jan. 16, 1921, in Monterey, to the late Valentine F. and Mabel (Bitterling) Reinhold. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1938. On Dec. 24, 1939, he married the late Susie V. Calhoun. She passed away July 19, 2009. Lowell and Susie were longtime members of the Monterey United Methodist Church. 

Lowell was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Monterey area. He was a good neighbor and friend; always willing to help fellow farmers when they needed it. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially farming and gardening as well as caring for farm animals. 

Lowell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by daughters: Becky [Jon Hall] Pugh of Auburndale, Florida, and Brenda [Jim] Loehmer of Pulaski; son-in-law Tom Rees of Kokomo; daughter-in-law Sharron Reinhold of Monterey; granddaughters: Terri [Jeff] Brown, Jamye [Gene] Baker, Sarah [Eric] Marxmiller and Amber [Taylor Simpson] Seidel; grandsons: Stan [Bobbie] Reinhold, Jeff [Amy] Pugh, Josh [Suzanne] Pugh and Travis [Ashley] Seidel; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers: Hubert Reinhold of Goshen, Byron [Nancy] Reinhold of Elkhart, and David [Vivian] Reinhold of Kewanna; sister Judy [Howard] Carlisle of Argos; sister-in-law Esther Reinhold of Monterey; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Valentine F. and Mabel (Bitterling) Reinhold Sr.; wife Susie V. (Calhoun) Reinhold; daughter Joyce Rees; son Steve Reinhold; sisters: Kathryn Corbett and Elsie Tuley; and brother Valentine F. Reinhold Jr.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will take place at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac.
