Loretta Louise (Gross) Disinger

March 29, 1935 — Sept. 16, 2021

Loretta Louise (Gross) Disinger, 86, of Francesville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 16. She passed away peacefully at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville. 

Loretta was born on March 29, 1935, in White County to the late Russell and Helen (Hughes) Gross.  She graduated from Monon High School in 1954. On June 19, 1954, she married the love of her life, Daniel “Dan” A. Disinger, in Francesville. They had a great 67 years of marriage.  

Loretta was a member of Bethel Bible Church where she served on the hospitality committee. She was a former member of Pleasant Ridge Bible Church where she served several years as a youth leader with Dan. For years, Loretta ran the office at Disinger Truck Service. In retirement, she enjoyed fishing and riding on the motorcycle with Dan.  

Loretta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family celebrations were always fun with her great sense of humor. She enjoyed staying active, visiting with her friends and neighbors, and baking cookies.  Loretta will be truly missed. 

She is survived by her husband Daniel “Dan” A. Disinger; son Doug [Cathy] Disinger; daughters: Debra [Don] Dobson and Cathy [Chris] Kopka; grandsons: Russell [Sydney] Disinger, Travis [Melony] Dobson, Brad Dobson, and Joshua [Ashley] Kopka; granddaughters: Heather [Brian] Sanders and Amanda [Ron] Force; great-granddaughters: Taylor Sanders, Kailey Sanders, Michaela Hallett, Emma Dobson, Addie Dobson, Josie Dobson, Emily Kopka, Kaelyn Kopka, and Brynlie Kopka; great-grandsons: Matt Jimenez, Andrew Jimenez, Nate Jimenez, Austin Kopka, Dominic St Clair, Sebastian St Clair, Jacobie Mills, and Christopher Kopka; sisters: Eleanor Lucy and Kay [Don] MacOwan; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father Russell Gross; mother Helen (Hughes) Gross Barton; stepfather Herman Barton; father-in-law Harry Disinger; mother-in-law Ada (Clinger) Disinger; son-in-law Ronald Kopka; granddaughter Heidi Kopka; and stepbrothers: Don Barton and Ronnie Barton.

Visitation was 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20 at Bethel Bible Church in Winamac.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20 at Bethel Bible Church in Winamac with Pastors Bill McNabney and Don Whipple officiating.

Burial will take place at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Gideon’s International.
