Linda J. McNabney

Aug. 24, 1944 — Jan. 29, 2021

Linda J. McNabney, 76, of Medaryville, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Jan. 29. She passed away at Franciscan Health Hospital in Rensselaer.

Linda was born on Aug. 24, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to the late Narlan L. and Geraldine (Ruthledge) Inmon. She graduated from Mooresville High School in 1962 and completed her studies at Indiana Business College. Linda worked as a legal secretary for several years at Ice Miller. On Aug. 7, 1966, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, William R. McNabney, in Mooresville. Linda was a proud homemaker and as such, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was always involved in the activities her children were participating in and was the leader of Cass White Post 4-H, Good News Bible Club, and Girl Scouts. Linda was active in the Pulaski County community and was a member of Bethel Bible Church and Aim High Home-Ec. Club. She also taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school. Linda was a talented pianist and loved the old hymns. She enjoyed cooking and baking — whether it was for her family or friends. Linda shared God’s grace in many ways; a meal brought to your home, a word of encouragement or a shared prayer. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. Linda will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband William R. “Bill” McNabney of Medaryville; daughters: Lara [Alan] Yates of Olean, New York, Melia [Wayne] Leichty of Avon, and Kendra [Jennifer] McNabney of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; son Todd [Theresa] McNabney of New Hyde Park, New York; grandsons: Nathan [Victoria] Yates, Curtis Yates, Nicholas Yates, Joel Yates, Daniel Yates, Jared Yates and Cameron Leichty; granddaughters: Mekayla [Michael] Siefert and Melanie Leichty; great-grandchildren: Sophia and Bennett; brothers: Bob [Tootsie] Inmon and Don [Jeanie] Inmon; sister Jerry [Bill] Alfrey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Narlan L. and Maggie Geraldine (Ruthledge) Inmon.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville, and one hour prior to services at the funeral home Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville, with Pastor Don Whipple and Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating.
