Kimberly Ellen Carroll

Kimberly Ellen Carroll, 64, of Royal Center, passed away unexpectedly at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, at her home. She fought the fight and has now completed the course.

Kim was born on Dec. 22, 1955, in Lafayette, to the late John Thomas and Mary (Parker) Phillips.

She married her best friend, Steve Carroll, on Dec. 1, 1979; he survives.

Kim never met a stranger. She was the most loving, compassionate, kindhearted person, always helping those less fortunate. Kim loved watching and feeding her birds and tending to her flower garden. Kim loved the game “spit” and playing cards on Wednesdays and Thursdays with her sister Tammy and friends. She was also a member of the Logansport Rose Society.

Survivors include her husband Steve Carroll of Royal Center; daughter Amy [John] McMahan of Galveston; sister and best friend Tammy [Ward] Haselby of Royal Center; brothers: Dru [Lisa] Phillips of Culver and Randy [Dawn] Phillips of Winamac; half sisters: Shelley and Leslie Phillips of Florida; granddaughter Jillian [Bryan] Kilgore of Kokomo; great-granddaughter Lily; sister-in-law Jan Meeks of Logansport; and by several nieces, nephews and great-nephews.

Kim was also preceded in death by beloved grandson Joshua Kilgore; and half brother John.

Visitation was from noon until the time of the service on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center. A celebration of life service followed at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Pastor David Sommers officiated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society.
