Kevin Paul Owens

Kevin Paul Owens, 66, of Medaryville, passed away at 10:13 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.
Kevin was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Rensselaer, to the late Omer and Beatrice Owens. He graduated from Medaryville High School in 1967.
Kevin served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman in Panama. He was a member of the Medaryville American Legion Post #96.
Kevin worked most of his life as a welder and was retired from Metal Fab Engineering in Winamac.
Kevin was an avid gardener. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling, attending festivals, and flying RC Airplanes. He was a member of Winamac Aero Modelers.
Kevin loved his family very much and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his son Sean [Jennifer] Owens of Francesville; grandsons: Cameron Owens and Brice Schultz; sister Betty [Eligah] Joseph of Buffalo; brother Clem “Sonny” Owens of Hazard County, Kentucky; sisters-in-law: Velma Owens of Medaryville, Aldena Owens of Wheatfield, and Kathy Owens of Medaryville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father James Omer Owens; mother Beatrice Owens Howe; son Christopher Thomas Owens; sisters: Helen West, Sandra “Penny” West and Doris Owens; and brothers: Melvin Owens, Leslie “Buck” Owens, Franklin “Dink” Owens and James Omer Owens Jr.
Visitation was 2-6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel. Pastor James Ketchen officiated. Burial took place in White Post Cemetery, Medaryville. The American Legion conducted military graveside services.
