Karrie Barker Attinger

Nov. 19, 1962 — March 6, 2019

Karrie Barker Attinger, 56, of Winamac, passed away after a brief illness at 6:23 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. 

Karrie was born on Nov. 19, 1962, in Rochester, to Virgil D. and Bonnie M. (Beghtel) Barker Jr. She attended Winamac High School and spent all of her life in Winamac.

Karrie a longtime cook at Cruizer’s in Winamac. She enjoyed doing crosswords.

Most of all Karrie loved her family very much. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her son Shawn Knebel of Star City; granddaughters: Maddie Foster, Baylee Knebel, Mylie Foster, Karlee Knebel and Ellee Knebel; mother Bonnie Barker of Winamac; sister Kim [Tom] Winters of Winamac; brother Dominic [Cari] Barker of Winamac; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter Amanda L. “Mandi” Abbott; father Virgil D. Barker Jr.; and brother DuWayne Lee Barker. 

Visitation was from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Pastor Ryan Eaton officiated. Burial took place at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac.
