Judith Anne “Judy” Propes

Judith Anne “Judy” Propes, 76, of Idaville, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Monticello Healthcare in Monticello.

Judy was born on May 31, 1939, in Medaryville, to the late Aley and Helen Netzel.

She married Ray Propes on December 16, 1961, in Walton. He survives.

After she raised her children, Judy earned her nursing degree at Casper College, Casper, Wyoming. She worked many years as a registered nurse in Casper and Monticello. She was proud to be a nurse.

Judy enjoyed nature, gardening, canning, cooking and working in the yard. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband Ray E. Propes Sr. of Idaville; daughters: Diana Ayers of Casper, Wyoming, and Laura [Wesley Graham] Bohnet of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sons: Ray E. [Justina] Propes Jr. of Windsor, Colorado, and Steven [Suzanne] Propes of Casper, Wyoming; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters: Ramona Doporto and Deborah Durham; brother-in-law Leroy Baker; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by father Aley Netzel; mother Helen (Saltsman) Wrench; grandson Ethan DeSchneau; and sister Martha Baker.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 23, 4-8 p.m., at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m., at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, with Pastor Tod Masters officiating. Burial will take place at Independence Cemetery in Medaryville.

Memorial donations may be made to Great Lakes Home Health Hospice in Kokomo.
