John E. Hinkle

Feb. 5, 1934 — Nov. 23, 2020

John E. Hinkle, 86, of Winamac, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.

John was born on Feb. 5, 1934, in Camden, and is the son of the late Thaddeus and Edna (Horn) Hinkle. On July 2, 1966, in Knox, he married Betty M. Sutton, who preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 2010.

John worked as a truck driver for DANA Corporation. He was a United States Army veteran. John enjoyed watching Purdue sports, IndyCar and NASCAR racing. He enjoyed traveling all over the United States.

Surviving is his daughter Patricia [Everett] Russ of Fayettville, North Carolina; sons: Scott [Shelley Graves] Hinkle of Star City, and Troy [Denise] Hiatt of Kewanna; sisters: Maxine Young of Winamac, and Nancy [Tom] Matthew of Monticello; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Lou Smith.

John will be buried at a graveside service at Rock Creek Cemetery, south of Logansport.
