James A. “Jim” Hubbard
James Allen “Jim” Hubbard, 73, of Winamac, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1951 in Winamac to the late Joe Winzle and Elizabeth Louise (Spicer) Hubbard. Jim attended Monterey and Winamac Schools before entering the workforce. He was a millwright for many years and also did construction work. On Dec. 31, 1988, Jim married Rose Marie (Crawford) Braun. She survives.
Jim was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time on the Tippecanoe River as well as hunting and fishing. One of his favorite hobbies was dirt bike riding. Jim was a kind and generous man who would give the shirt off of his back for anyone. He loved his family dearly and will be sadly missed by all.
He is survived by wife Rose Marie (Crawford) Hubbard, Winamac; sons: Andrew Joseph Braun, Winamac, James Lee Braun, John Paul Braun, Winamac and Jeffery Allen Braun, Winamac; daughters: Laura Louise [husband: Jason] Adkins, Heavener, Oklahoma and Erica Fawn [husband: Theodore] Perusse II, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren: Robbie [wife: Tina], Miranda, Ethan, Wayne, Zane, Tyler, Jarett, Darren, Ronnie, Alex, Athena, Zakota, Journey, Lyle, Kyle, Josiah and Keota; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Colleen Hinman, Kathryn [husband: Butch] Shidler, Karen Frazier and Kaye [husband: Glenn] Brady; brothers: Timothy [wife: Lorraine] Hubbard and Kenneth Frazier; many nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law Jeanettie Marcella “Sis” Fox, Winamac.
Preceded in death by father Joe Winzle Hubbard; mother Elizabeth Louise (Spicer) Hubbard Frazier; step-father Kenneth J. “Blackie” Frazier; son-in-law Jonathan Albert Hudlow; two grandchildren: Frankie and Elijah; brother Robert Hubbard; and sister Kelly Hook.
Cremation will take place at Frain Crematory in Winamac.
The family hosted a celebration of life at the Winamac VFW on Sunday, Aug. 10, starting at 1 p.m.
