Hazel Lucille Henry
Hazel Lucille Henry passed away on March 25, at the age of 98 and 8 months.
Hazel was born on July 8, 1919, in Leipsic, Ohio, to the late Frank and Alice (West) Myers. She was raised in Grass Creek, where she lived until she married the late Eugene M. Henry on Aug. 6, 1938. They were married 71.5 years. Hazel and Eugene lived in Peru, and then Kokomo, before moving to Port St. Lucie, Florida, in 1978. Hazel was an active member of the Presbyterian church where she served as a deacon (since 1956) and had been active in the women’s group. During the couple’s Florida years, Hazel and Eugene enjoyed their fellowship at Indian River Presbyterian Church.
Hazel’s family will miss her warm smiles and gentle laughter.
Survivors include her son Myron [Mary] Henry; grandchildren: Karen, Carrie, Anita and Kevin; and great-grandchildren: Michael, Vanessa, Matthew, Abby and Marin.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene M. Henry; son Larry Henry; great-grandson Nicholas Henry; sisters: Mary Leonard, Josephine Diveley and Eileen Myers; and brother Carl Myers.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac, with Rev. Ruby Kleymann officiating.
Hazel will be buried next to her beloved husband Eugene following services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the music department at the Indian River Presbyterian Church.
