Frank Norman Witt

April 4, 1940 — May 3, 2016

Norm Witt died unexpectedly in Sebring, Florida, on Tuesday, May 3, at the age of 76.

Norm was born April 4, 1940, in Medaryville. He graduated from Francesville High School in 1958. 

On July 14, 1962, he married Sharon Lindvall, his wife of 54 years.

He began his career at the State Exchange Bank in Culver. Norman and Sharon owned and operated the Witt Insurance Agency in Francesville. He served on the Peoples State Bank/Alliance Bank Board from 1984-2010 where he was chairman of the board for 21 years. He was a member of St. James Salem United Church of Christ.

Norm spent his life serving the Lions Club and was a member of the Francesville Lions Club. He also served as district governor of 25A (1983-84), council chairman (1984-85) and received the Melvin Jones Award (1992-93). He was a past master of the Monon G. S. A. M. Masonic Lodge (#208), a member of the Winamac Masonic Lodge (#262) and a former member of the Eastern Star at Francesville (#268). He loved spending time with family; enjoyed dancing and golfing. 

He loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Norm is survived by his wife Sharon; daughter Rebecca [David] Baker of Alpharetta, Georgia; grandsons: Christopher Baker of Dallas, Texas, and Nathan Baker of Normal, Illinois; granddaughter Lauren Baker of Alpharetta, Georgia; son Allen [Jane] Witt; granddaughters: Sarah Witt and Emma Witt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister Dorajean (Witt) Keller of Edon Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father Frank Witt and mother Dorothy (Garling) Witt.

A celebration of the life of Norm will be held on Sunday, June 26, 4-8 p.m. at Orange Lake Resort, 8505 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (UNIT #5616), Kissimmee, Florida.
