Evelyn M. Haselby

Evelyn M. Haselby, 90, of Star City, passed away at 4:21 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Monterey, to John and Eona (Reinhold) Bair.

Evelyn married Harlan Henry Haselby on Oct. 9, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan. Harlan died March 25, 1997.

She was a member of the Star City United Methodist Church in Star City. She was also a member the United Methodist Women. Evelyn loved attending and working with the other members of her church. She especially enjoyed working at the annual bizarre.

Evelyn was a member of the Extension Homemakers and the Red Hat Society. She was a member of the bunco club.

Evelyn loved Indiana University basketball and coach Bob Knight. She disliked Purdue and Gene Keady.

Evelyn enjoyed working in her garden and feeding her family with her produce.

Evelyn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending “grandparents day” at the school.

Survivors include his son James Haselby of Star City; grandsons: Shane Haselby, Brandon Haselby, Brock Haselby and Shaw Haselby; granddaughter Amy Haselby; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents John B. and Eona (Reinhold) Bair; sons: Gary Haselby and Richard Haselby; daughter-in-law Linda (Daily) Haselby; and brother Ervin Bair.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Frain Mortuary, with Rev. Ruth Waite officiating. Burial will take place in Star City West Cemetery, Star City.

Memorial contributions may be given to Star City United Methodist Church.
