Esther E. Schultz
Esther E. Schultz, 84, of Medaryville, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at the home of her daughter in Medaryville.
She was born June 28, 1931, in Medaryville, to James and Elsie (Blaydes) Yerion.
Esther married Richard A. Schultz on June 10, 1950, at the Medaryville Christian Church. Richard died April 2, 2006.
Esther was the valedictorian of her graduating class at the Wheatfield High School in 1949.
She was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Medaryville, and the ladies aid of the church. Esther will always be remembered for her lemon meringue pies at the bake sales.
Esther worked as a waitress at several restaurants in Medaryville. She was a real estate broker from 1998-2013. Esther sold Avon products for more than 30 years and was a member of the Avon President’s Club.
Esther enjoyed playing euchre at the West Side Senior Center in Medaryville. She was an active member of the center. Esther was a former Senior Citizen of the Year.
Esther enjoyed all games played with her family as long as they were played by “grandma’s rules.”
Esther was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter Pamela S. [Gregory] Werner of Medaryville; sons: Ronald D. [Susan] Schultz of Medaryville, and Gary L. [Estie] Schultz of Medaryville; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father James Wathen and mother Elsie Crystelle (Blaydes) Yerion; brother George Yerion; and sisters Mary Jones and Elva Crystelle Yerion.
Visitation was from 3-7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel Medaryville. Funeral services followed Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the funeral home. Pastor Tom Woodley officiated. Private burial took place in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery, Medaryville.
