Eric Darrell Tibbs

Aug. 23, 1966 — Oct. 10, 2020

Eric Darrell Tibbs, 54, of Winamac, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 10, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.   

He was born on Aug. 23, 1966, in La Porte, to Ronald and Sally (Allen) Tibbs. Eric was raised by Albert and Constance Woodard Allen. He was married on Sept. 3, 1989, to the love of his life. 

Eric was employed as a welder at GalFab in Winamac. He was a member of FOE 2580 in Winamac and the Sons of the American. Eric enjoyed playing golf with his cousin Rod at Moss Creek Golf Course in Winamac. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his kids and grandkids. Eric loved shooting pool at the Eagles hall. 

Eric had a heart of gold and was always ready to help a friend. More than anything in the world, Eric loved his three daughters and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters: Erica [Jimmy] Collins of North Judson, Kayla [Zack Arnold] Tibbs of Knox and Sarah Tibbs of Valparaiso; grandsons: Noah Collins and Carter Tibbs; granddaughters: Riley Collins and Genevieve Matthes; maternal mother Sally Allen Tibbs of Utah; mother Constance Allen of Tennessee; sister Lucy [Parley] Mortensen of Utah; brothers: Ronny Tibbs of Arizona, Andy [Kelly] Allen of Tennessee, Brian Allen of La Crosse and Rod [Carrie] Dickensen of Medaryville; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parental father Ronald Tibbs; father Albert Allen; and brother Joe Tibbs. 

Visitation was from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Pastor Ben Carpenter officiated.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
