Elizabeth Ann Parcel

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Parcel, 84, of Winamac, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver.

She was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Winamac, to Cyril and Mildred (Costello) Widup. Betty married Kermit “Buck” Parcel on April 26, 1951, in Star City. Buck survives.

Betty was a member of the Winamac First Presbyterian Church.

She worked as a secretary for the former Rice Corporation in Winamac. She then worked for Pulaski County Abstract at Winamac. Betty then worked as church secretary at the Winamac First Presbyterian Church for 31 years.

Betty enjoyed walking and egg decorating. She loved her flower garden especially her roses. She and Denise frequently traveled to the Smokey Mountains and went on shopping trips.

Survivors include her husband Kermit “Buck” Parcel of Winamac; daughter Denise Parcel of Winamac; son Mark Parcel of Winamac; sister Mary Lou [Branson] Hiatt of Walkerton; and brother James [Eunice] Widup of Billings, Montana.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cyril Widup  and Mildred (Costello) Widup Lehman; stepfather Harold Lehman; sister Judith Lees; and brother Paul Widup.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Frain Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Rev. Nelda Seger officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
