Edward L. Bleicher

April 7, 1934 — March 30, 2024

Surrounded by his family, Edward Lester Bleicher, resident of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away on March 30, at UC Health Medical Center of the Rockies at the age of 89 years. 

Edward was born on April 7, 1934, to Bruno and Bertha Bleicher of Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Winamac. On Sept. 26, 1970, Edward married the love of his life, Elaine Bleicher. Out of that union came three children, Paul, Phillip and Daniel. Edward and Elaine settled in Rawlins in 2015 to be closer to family. 

Edward was a proud U.S. Marine and Korean War veteran. He faithfully served with the local VFW and volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center in Rawlins.  Edward loved learning other languages and could speak several well. His family was the center of his life, and he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren fiercely. Edward knew no strangers and would do anything for anybody. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  

Edward is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Elaine Bleicher; his children: Paul [Anne] Bleicher of Ten Sleep, Wyoming, Phillip [Karen] Bleicher of Tempe, Arizona and Daniel [Penny] Bleicher of Rawlins, Wyoming.  Grandchildren include Emily, Elizabeth, Curtis, Tori, David, Noah, Gabriel, Daphne and Cassidy. Edward is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Payton and Roslyn.  

Edward was preceded in death by his parents: Bruno and Bertha; brothers: Bob, Carl, Art, Louie and George; and by his sisters: Esther and Gertrude.  

A memorial service was held on April 27, at 1 p.m. at Harvestime Ministries located at 822 W. Walnut, Rawlins, WY. A graveside service was held on April 5 at 1 p.m., at the Rawlins Cemetery, 915 3rd Street.
