Dorothy F. Ross

Dec. 24, 1922 — Sept. 5, 2017

Dorothy F. Ross, 94, of Lucerne, passed away at 9:23 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac.

Born on Dec. 24, 1922, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Emma “Della” (Reinholt) Morrison.

Dorothy was a 1940 Monterey High School graduate.

On May 10, 1942, she married Joseph D. Ross. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1996.

Dorothy was formerly employed at the Winamac Dime Store, Fred’s Restaurant in Lucerne and she also worked in the cafeteria at the Lucerne High School.

She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Lucerne and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Winamac. Dorothy was also a member and past president of the Lucerne Home Extension Club for many years. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting and fishing in her younger years.

Survivors include her daughters: Sandra [Bob] Weldy of Winamac and Carolyn [Mike] Teyner of Lucerne; grandchildren: Sherrie [John] Teyner Williams of Florida, Kenan Mayhew of Florida, Steve [Camie] Teyner of Lucerne, and Lisa [Rusty] Long of Oklahoma; and great-grandchildren: Paige, Joey, Cole, Clayton, Lainie, Lillie and Isabella.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter Donna Ross; brothers: Ted, Howard, John and Joseph Morrison; and sister Mary Hinderlider.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 11, at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel. Services were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12,  at the funeral chapel. Pastor Tim Minnick officiated. Burial took place at McKinley Memorial Gardens.
