Dennis Ray Harris

Dennis Ray Harris, 58, of Medaryville, passed away Wednesday, Aug.19, in Medaryville.

He was born on Nov. 1, 1956, in Valparaiso, to the late John and Thelma Wireman Harris. During his younger years, he lived at Bailey’s Corner and also Leslie, Michigan.

Dennis enjoyed singing and playing music, especially his guitar. He was very talented and could play many different instruments. His friends and family nicknamed him “Willie Jones” because they thought he sounded like Willie Nelson and George Jones.

Dennis enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed.

Survivors include daughter Amanda Henderson of Mulberry; step-daughter Shania Howard of Medaryville; son Brandon Harris of Stanton, Kentucky; brothers: John Daniel “Danny” [Sandra] Harris of Stanton, Kentucky, Jarvie Michael “Mike” [Becky] Harris of Stanton, Kentucky; sisters: Marlene [Phillip] Miller of Medaryville; Cathy [Mike] Burger of South Bend; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Harris and Thelma Wireman Harris; infant daughter Chrystal Lynn Harris; and infant sister Betty Lou Harris.

Memorial contributions may be given to Pulaski Memorial Hospice in memory of Thelma Harris.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville.
