Deloris R. Morgan

Deloris R. Morgan, 76, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

Born on Nov. 7, 1941, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Shidler Jr. and May Alene Linback.

On April 7, 1962, in Francesville, she married Larry Dean Morgan who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2006.

Deloris was a 1960 graduate of Francesville High School. She worked at Walmart in Monticello, and also in Colorado.

Surviving are daughters: Tammy L. Abeyta of Monticello, Sandy Sterkel of Prospect Valley, Colorado, and Lorna McMillin of Commerce City, Colorado; sisters: Iris Simonin of Lafayette, Maxine Smith of Winamac, Trish [Mark] Dahlenburg of Lafayette, and Lorinda [Ed] Grauel of Calimesa, California; brothers: Oren Shidler of Knox, Dennis [Judy] Shidler of Royal Center, Fred [Ann] Shidler of Monticello, Frank [Carla] Shidler of Star City, and Jake [Karen] Shidler of Logansport; sister-in-law Elaine Shidler of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Melody Davenport; brothers: Thomas Shidler III, Ronald Shidler and Garry Shidler; sisters-in-law: Pauline Shidler, Maria Shidler and Rosemary Shidler; and brothers-in-law: Chuck Simonin and Robert Smith.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Scott officiating.
