Daril Amos Richie

Daril Amos Richie, 23, of Monticello, (formerly of Winamac) passed away Friday, Sept. 1, at his residence. 

He was born on Dec. 16, 1993, in Rensselaer, to Robert and Michelle (Shirley) Richie. Daril graduated from West Central High School in 2012, where he enjoyed participating in baseball and track. 

He was currently employed as a carpenter at Jim’s Construction LLC in Kokomo. Daril enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting (with Grandpa Frank), fishing, swimming, and four-wheeling. He was also an avid gamer. Daril was a caring friend and a loving brother, son, and father. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughter Aaleyah Ann Richie of Winamac; mother Michelle Shirley of Monticello; father Robert [Jenni] Richie of Winamac; brothers: Travis [Keicha] Foulks of Buffalo, and Ryan [Brittany] Foulks of Royal Center; sister Kara Richie of Winamac; maternal grandmother Lydia Roller of Monticello; paternal grandmothers: Carol Warran of Rensselaer, and Sandy Scheffer of Star City; paternal great-grandmother Myrtle Miller of Rensselaer; maternal aunt Samantha Sue Shirley of Fort Knox, Kentucky; maternal uncle Jim [Michelle] Shirley of Kokomo; paternal uncles: Daniel R. Whited of Francesville, and Bret [Gina] Dilts of Winamac; niece Paizlee Foulks of Buffalo; Aaleyah’s mother Krystal Hoagland of Winamac; and many beloved cousins. 

He was preceded in death by an infant sister Bobbie Lee McMeeken; maternal grandfathers: Jim Shirley and Frank Roller; and paternal grandfather Amos Richie. 

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel (318 E. Pearl St. Medaryville, IN 47957) with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
