Daniel Lee Ulm
Daniel Lee Ulm, 61, of Lafayette, passed away on Dec. 22, 2014, at 10:33 a.m.
He was born on July 17, 1953, in Brook, to Edward and Mary (Fleming) Ulm.
He was previously married to Kimberly Russell of Winamac.
Dan attended Indiana University in Bloomington and was previously employed at Pulaski Memorial Hospital. During his time at PMH, Dan worked on the ambulance, in surgery, and finally in administration as director of materials management. Dan’s proudest accomplishment was establishing the computer network at PMH.
He was an accomplished guitarist and often played his Fender Stratocaster loudly so the neighbors could listen. Some of his fondest memories included recording sessions with his best friend Mike Whan.
Dan was a past master of Winamac Masonic Lodge #262, a past member of the Moose Lodge, and past member of the Eagles. He enjoyed playing golf, computer games, watching NASCAR and Indiana University basketball.
Survivors include his son Eric Daniel McMullan; adopted son Benjamin Scott Ulm of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; adopted daughter MacKenzie Inez [Brian] Ledley of Winamac; brother Scott [Angie] Ulm of Indianapolis; and ex-wife Kimberly Russell of Winamac.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Mary (Fleming) Ulm; brother Brad Ulm; grandmother Evelyn Fleming; and grandfather William Fleming.
A private family service will be held.
The family requests that people take a moment to listen to Neil Young, Todd Rundgren, The Kinks, The Who, Frank Zappa, or The Beatles and remember Dan.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
