Daniel J. Dickensheets

Daniel J. Dickensheets, 66, of Winamac, died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 1, at Franciscan Health East Hospital in Lafayette. 

Daniel was born Sept. 16, 1952, in Logansport, to Richard F. and Marjorie Ann (Morgan) Dickensheets. 

Daniel was a 1970 graduate of Winamac Community High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University in 1974. He had worked at Plymouth Tube Co., Braun Corporation and Whallon Machine as a design engineer. He retired eight years ago.

Daniel enjoyed running and bicycling. He had cycled every county road in Pulaski County. He also enjoyed gardening and watching sports. Daniel was an avid Purdue fan. 

He is survived by his sister Jayne Sadler of Lafayette; brothers: David Dickensheets of Winamac, Duane [Kelly] Dickensheets of Monticello, James [Jennifer] Dickensheets of Lafayette, and Randal Dickensheets of Detroit, Michigan; and nieces: Shawn, Casey, Barbara and Meradith. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard F. and Marjorie Ann (Morgan) Dickensheets; and brother-in-law Greg Sadler. 

Visitation was at 11 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral services followed at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6. Theresa Fischer, funeral celebrant, officiated. Burial took place at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac.
