Cortney M. Starr
Cortney M. Starr, 29, of Winamac, passed away peacefully at 7:15 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 29, 1990, in Winamac, she was the daughter of Darren and Crystal (Kellems) Starr.
Cortney attended Winamac Community High School. She was formerly employed at Family Dollar and Dairy Queen in Winamac. Cortney loved spending time with her children.
Survivors include her son Preston Thomas of Winamac; daughter Harlee Thomas of Winamac; father Darren [Myra] Starr of Winamac; sister Amber [Billy] Neeley of Medaryville; grandfather William Starr of Florida; stepbrother Cody [Abby] Cobb of Brookston; stepsisters: Micah [Jeff] Henderson of Alabama, and Taylor Arbuckle of Winamac; and by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother Crystal Starr; brother Brandon Starr; and grandparents: Darlene Starr and William and Tessie Kellems.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday, Aug. 15, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home and Crematory in Royal Center. A celebration of life service followed at 3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, with Pastor Ed Clark officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Township Cemetery at a later date.
