Clair David Reinhold

May 29, 1929 — Feb. 12, 2016

Clair David Reinhold, 86, of Winamac, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 12, at 11:10 p.m. He passed away at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.  

Clair was born on May 29, 1929, in Monterey, to the late Clarence and Grace Reinhold. Clair graduated from Monterey High School in 1947.  

On Dec. 21, 1952, he married the love of his life, Betty Hoffman. She survives.

Clair served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Eaton Corporation in Winamac for more than 30 years. Clair enjoyed remodeling and building houses as well as gardening. He also enjoyed working auctions for Dewain Davis. 

Clair was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winamac. He loved his grandchildren very much, especially attending their sporting events. Clair will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife Betty Jean Reinhold of Winamac; sons: Kent [Sandy] Reinhold of Francesville, and David [Bonnie] Reinhold of Winamac; daughters: Cathy Penicaro of Kewanna, and Marcia [John] Miller of Star City; granddaughters: Gina [Michael] Oaf and Ashley Reinhold; grandsons: Steve Penicaro, Ross Reinhold, Travis Miller and Tyler Miller; great-grandsons: Spencer Penicaro, Ryan Oaf, Daulton Oaf, Bradley Penicaro, and Anthony Penicaro; great-granddaughter Alexis Penicaro; great-great-granddaughter Paisyn Marie Johnson; sisters: Mary [Bud] Hammond of Rensselaer, and Florence John of Texas; brothers: Donald Reinhold of Winamac, and Marion [Sharon] Reinhold of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Elmer and Grace Armeda (Hassenplug) Reinhold; son-in-law Brad Penicaro; grandson David F. Penicaro; brother Elden Reinhold; and sister Wilma Reinhold. 

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Frain Mortuary, with Pastor David Norris officiating. Burial will take place in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.

Memorial contributions may be given to Calvary Baptist Church.
