Charlotte A. Ward Dolezal

Charlotte A. Ward Dolezal, 86, of Hobart, and formerly of Winamac, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, at home. 

She was born on June 18, 1931, in Winamac, to the late Charles and Elizabeth Russell. Charlotte retired after 26 years of working as a nursing technician at Pulaski Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved flowers. One of her favorite things to do was to wander down the road, picking wildflowers to make arrangements. 

Charlotte is survived by her daughters: Charleene Hinojosa of Hobart, and Julia Ann Hernandez of Tampa, Florida; stepdaughter Joleen Graff of Crestwood, Illinois; eight grandchildren; many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph W. Ward in 1988; second husband Arthur Dolezal in 2009; brothers: Willard, Gerald, Kenneth and Kermit Russell; and sister Sr. Florence Russell. 

Memorial visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. 

A memorial service for Charlotte will take place Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Mullet officiating. Her ashes will be laid to rest between her two husbands at St. Jacob Cemetery in North Judson at a later date.
