Carol Ann Grandstaff

Aug. 24, 1945 — March 12, 2021

Carol Ann Grandstaff, 75, of Winamac, passed away on Friday, March 12, at her home in Winamac. 

She was born on Aug. 24, 1945, in Winamac, to the late Lewis and Viola (Hettinger) Grant Sr. Carol was a graduate of Star City High School. She worked many years as a cook at the Pulaski County Justice Center and most recently, she worked at Casey’s in Winamac. Carol was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her son Paul [Shannin] Grandstaff of Winamac; daughters: Melissa Hurlburt of Winamac, and Donnetta [Keith] Ernest of Winamac; grandsons: Kyle [Shannon] Grandstaff, and Sean Grandstaff; granddaughters: Dakota Heims, Julie Heims, Cassie [Kevin Bowman] Hurlburt, Cheyenne Hurlburt, Savannah Hurlburt, Madilynn Conley and Hunter Conley; seven great-grandchildren; sister Wanda Wagner of Winamac; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Viola (Hettinger) Grant Sr.; son-in-law Lester Hurlburt Jr.; grandson Ryan Grandstaff; sisters: Faye Handy, Donna Robinson and Norma Jean Grant; brother Lewis Grant Jr.; and infant sister Julia May Grant. 

Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, with Pastor Ryan Eaton officiating. Burial will take place at Star City West Cemetery in Star City. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
