Betty L. Colgrove

Betty L. Colgrove, 76, Winamac, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

She was born April 26, 1939, in Winamac, to Leo and Marie (Scheffer) Weisenburger.

Betty was married on June 14, 1958, in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, to Garry D. Colgrove. He passed away on Nov. 12, 2011.

Betty and Garry were the former owners of Hank's Tire Service and the Pizza Haus in Winamac.

She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.

Betty was retired from Eaton-Controls, Winamac. She also was a former advertising executive for The Independent newspaper.

She enjoyed her weekly dinners with her granddaughters. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son Jefferey D. [Cheryld] Colgrove of Florence, South Carolina; daughters: Lori L. [Craig] Fletcher of Winamac, Lisa A. Roth of Winamac, Lynndy L. [Matthew] Boos of Winamac, and Leslie M. [Tara Ford] Colgrove of Winamac; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister Dorothy M. Callahan of Winamac.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Marie (Scheffer) Weisenburger; husband Garry D. Colgrove; brothers: Arden “Bud” Weisenburger, Richard “Dick” Weisenburger and Bobby Weisenburger; sisters: Marjorie Mitchell, Virginia Worsham, Jean Moore and Donna White, three grandsons; and daughter-in-law Millissa Glasson Colgrove.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Frain Mortuary, with Donald Norrick officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Lupus Foundation.
