Betty Jo Doty

Betty Jo Doty, 72, of Kewanna, passed away unexpectedly at 1:55 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, at her residence.

Born on Nov. 9, 1945, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Abie” and Ruby (Henderson) Baldwin. 

Betty Jo was a 1964 Kewanna High School graduate.

On Oct. 23, 1965, she married Michael H. Doty in Kewanna, he survives.

Betty Jo was a pharmacy technician at Walgreen’s in Rochester for more than 15 years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. 

She enjoyed cooking, garage sales and spending time with her family especially all of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Michael W. Doty of Kewanna; son Todd M. [Cristi] Doty of Twelve Mile; grandchildren: Amber [Emmanuel] Esteban, Quinton Doty, Keegan Doty, Hunter S. Doty, Sydney B. Doty, Andrew J. Doty and Dawson J. Doty; daughter-in-law Trina Doty of Kewanna; and great grandchildren: Olivia and Gracelynn.

She was also preceded in death by her son Brian Doty.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, May 2, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home & Crematory. Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bruce Lake Cemetery.
