Barry D. Day

Barry D. Day, 42, of Winamac passed away on Friday, Apr. 29, at Franciscan Healthcare in Indianapolis. He was born on May 29, 1979, in Monticello to Kerry and Dana (Ruhl) Day. 

Barry was the Wastewater Treatment Superintendent of Winamac. He was a 1998 graduate of Winamac Community High School. Barry was in all-conference and Loganland in football. He was a state qualifier in wrestling his senior year of high school. He was a ten-year member of the Pulaski County 4-H and recently a member of the 4-H Council. He was a member of the Star City United Methodist Church. Barry coached track, football and wrestling at Winamac schools. He enjoyed doing anything outside, including hunting, gardening, fishing, hiking and planting trees. Barry loved caring for his farm animals. He especially enjoyed watching his children play sports. Barry was a major ice cream enthusiast. He was extremely witty and never met a stranger. He could light up a room with his smile. Above all, Barry loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by sons: Aiden Day of Winamac and Keenan Day of Winamac; daughters: Brenna Day of Winamac and Shailyn Day of Winamac; fiancée Lori Jones of Shipshewana; brothers: Kullen [Toni] Day of Winamac and Travis Day of Winamac; step-brothers: Jason [Kami] Ward of Indianapolis, Cole Minniear Killeen of Texas, and Seth [Courtney] Minniear of Galveston; step-sister Abby [Larry] Musall of Delphi; mother Dana [Kathy Hamalian] Ruhl of Delphi; father Kerry [Angela] Day of Monon; maternal grandparents: Dean and Bonnie (Deam) Ruhl of Star City; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Victor and Carol (Brust) Day and cousin Jeremy Day.

Visitation will take place from 2 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, at the Star City United Methodist Church and one hour prior to services on Thursday. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Star City United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris and Rev. Jodi Kosary officiating.
