Alvena J. Mollencupp

Alvena J. Mollencupp, 85, of Lake Bruce, passed away at 2:18 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 4, at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.

Born Sept. 19, 1930, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Eva (Wolfe) O’Blenis.

On Oct. 16, 1953, she married Floyd “Ed” Mollencupp, who survives.

She was a Rochester High School graduate.

She formerly worked at Torins in Rochester where she retired in 1992.

Alvena was a member of the Kewanna Church of Christ. She enjoyed volunteering at the senior center, quilting, knitting, crafts, traveling and baking.

Survivors include her husband Ed Mollencupp of Lake Bruce; sons: John [Lorna] Mollencupp of Kewanna, Ed [Teresa] Mollencupp Jr. of Lake Bruce, and William [Cynthia] Mollencupp of Indianapolis; daughter Vicki Luz of Winamac; brother William [Erlene] O’Blenis of Rochester; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by son Phillip Mollencupp and daughter Debbie Mollencupp.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Kewanna Church of Christ on Thursday, Oct. 8. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., at the Kewanna Church of Christ with Pastor Aaron McCombs officiating. Interment will be at Rochester IOOF Cemetery at a later date.
