Alice M. Fox

Nov. 23, 1933 — Feb. 14, 2021

Alice M. Fox, 87, of Kewanna, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1933, in Star City, to the late John and Ranna (Roberts) Murphy. She graduated from Star City High School. On Sept. 1, 1951, Alice married Loran Fox. He passed away on May 3, 2005.

Alice worked as a server at the Curve Inn in Kewanna for many years. She and Loran owned and operated the Baldwin Fruit Market and the Pizza Shed in Kewanna. Alice had also worked as a caregiver. Alice attended the Cross Church in Rochester.

Alice enjoyed working in her flower garden. There were no plants that she could not save or grow. She loved watching and feeding birds. She also enjoyed eating out and finishing her meal with ice cream or a cold glass of wine. Alice also loved her lottery tickets, both giving them and scratching them off. She also enjoyed garage sales. More than anything Alice loved being with her family and friends. There was nothing that she wouldn’t do for them.

She is survived by her son Steve [Linda] Fox of La Porte; daughters: Lorna [John] Mollencupp of Culver, and Anita “Nead” [Bo] Klinefelter of Kewanna; grandsons: Steven [Brenda] Fox Jr., John [Lauren] Mollencupp, and Verlin [Allison] Klinefelter; granddaughters: Leslie [Zack] Fontaine, Jennifer [Johnny] Sult, Shelly [John] Moore and Megan Carson; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Patsy [Cyril] Hahn of Winamac; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ranna (Roberts) Murphy; husband Loran Fox; and sisters: Marjorie A. Scheffer, Virginia Hardy, Dorothy Herr and Jean Sharp.

A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date.
