Young addresses conflicts between commissioners

A heated discussion, during the last commissioners’ meeting, between them and a county employee led one commissioner to publicly address what happened.
During the commissioners’ meeting on Feb. 1, disagreements regarding Indiana law and the county Unified Development Ordinance ensued because the commissioners approved for the building inspector to also be the plan commission advisor with a 2-1 vote.
After the meeting, letters to the editor were published in the Journal from a county resident who is employed at the Pulaski County Community Development Commission office and county commissioner Larry Brady.
Before Pulaski County Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer gave his regular report, during the regular meeting on Feb. 16, commissioner president Terry Young said he had a good talk with Origer on Feb. 12. Young called the previous commissioners’ meeting an “awkward situation.”
Young said recent events have led him to read a statement to the commissioners, county employees and the public.
No comments were made after he read his statement.
