Plan commission appoints Hoover as administrator

A plan commission meeting on Monday settled the issue of whether the commission can appoint an administrator.
During the meeting, the members of the commission approved Pulaski County Building Inspector Doug Hoover as the administrator without any objection.
Board member Darrin Wagner opened the discussion by saying board members need to decide whether or not they want Hoover as the plan commission administrator.
Wagner said he is just trying to protect the county because according to the Unified Development Ordinance and the state statute, the plan commission hires and dismisses that position.
Wagner said the board needs to dismiss Dare and hire Hoover if that’s what they wish to do. Wagner said he doesn’t know Hoover so he doesn’t have any problems with him.
A motion was made to dismiss Dare as the plan commission administrator in agreement with the commissioners. The motion was approved.
A motion was approved to accept Hoover as the plan commission administrator as suggested by the commissioners.
