Line item changes made to sewer upgrade project, council waits on OCRA

Monterey Town Council members continue to slowly move forward with the sewer upgrade project as they resubmit new paperwork to the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA).
Shawn Cain, a Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission (KIRPC) grant administrator, said there has to be a change made to the paperwork regarding the sewer upgrade project amounts that are being submitted to OCRA.
She said the amount that the town is contributing doesn’t change but the amount needs to be what it was originally. She used the example that the contingency line item will not be accepted by OCRA. It will have to be moved into another line item of the project.
Council president Emily Bailey questioned if the council needs to take action on the paperwork.
Cain said no because during the last meeting the council approved to rebid pending approval from OCRA.
She wanted confirmation that the council agrees that the contingency line item can be moved back into the project.
A motion was approved to move the revision forward such as the last one was so it can be rebid.
The revised plan will be sent to OCRA and the council will need to wait and hear what step OCRA wants the council to take next.
