Indiana year-long celebration begins

The year-long celebration in anticipation of the 200th anniversary next year of President James Madison signing the act admitting Indiana as the 19th State of the Union began on Dec. 11. 
Winamac joined the celebration with the raising of the flag honoring the bicentennial anniversary and reading a proclamation at noon. 
Winamac councilwoman Judy Heater, town manager Brad Zellers and clerk-treasurer Melanie Berger oversaw the honoring of the kickoff.
