Hoffa named new county clerk

Nov. 18, 2015

Christi Hoffa has been named the new Pulaski County Clerk and will take office the first of the year.

Current county clerk Tasha Foerg recently announced that she would be resigning from the elected position because she is moving with her family. She will finish the third year of her term.

Because Foerg is leaving, the Republican Party held a caucus on Tuesday, Nov. 10, to choose a successor.

Hoffa said she wouldn’t have ordinarily declared herself as a candidate because it was off cycle of the election process.

“It was an opportunity that opened up and it has been an office that has intrigued me and one that I thought about working in before,” Hoffa said.

Hoffa, who has worked for the county for several years, served as a deputy auditor for eight years before she decided to run for recorder. She has been the recorder for the past three years.

Hoffa said working in the courthouse and with the other offices has given her some insight regarding the functions of each office. Although she doesn’t have any experience working in the clerk’s office she is looking forward to it.

“I think the challenge of learning something new is intriguing,” Hoffa said.

A Republican Party caucus will need to be held to choose a successor for the position of county recorder.
