Francesville council makes decision about generators

The Town of Francesville has been talking about generators for the last few meetings and on Monday night they approved to purchase one.
The decision to purchase a new generator was made because of a recent ice storm that left the area without power for more than 24 hours. During the storm, one of the generators broke and the town was forced to rent one in order to keep the sewer system working. At the time, town employees also decided that a smaller portable generator was needed.
A quote was obtained for a small portable generator at the cost of $1,269. The generator that has an electric starter, would be used by the different town departments and has enough power for what the town needs. Funding for the generator could come from a number of funds.
