Eastern Pulaski School Corporation to hire a director of food services

With an increasing amount of paperwork and regulations changing for nutritional guidelines, the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation approved to hire a director of food services.
Superintendent Dan Foster said currently the school corporation doesn’t have one person to oversee the food services, although he has tried to streamline the duties. He believes that one person could bring some consistency to the food program and lighten the workload for other employees.
Foster said if one of the two current cafeteria managers does not apply for the position then a new position will be created. If one of the current managers is hired as the director, Foster thinks there will be part-time hours to be covered.
Currently, the school corporation has funding for the position and it would be a split funded position.
Foster said he has no intention of lessening the income of the two cafeteria managers.
Although the position was approved, boardman Michael Tetzloff opposed the motion to create the position.
Boardwoman Rhonda Heims was absent from the meeting.
